Carzuno expands into Thailand with car subscription

Carzuno, a Singapore-based all-inclusive subscription platform for cars, announced that it has launched its operations across Thailand.

The company hired Wisate Kirin (ex-Carro, Toyota, Michelin) and Cathrin Samijtiwong (ex-Servcorp, HappyFresh) to spearhead the car subscription operations and enhance Carzuno’s service offering by creating local partnerships, expanding the local team and speed tracking more cars on the platform, specifically EVs.

The new market entry follows Carzuno’s successful launch in Singapore and oversubscribed pre-seed funding round completed in December 2021.

“We are extremely excited to introduce Thai residents to our car subscription platform, Thailand’s first Expedia for cars – a new form of car ownership that doesn’t require any loans or down payment. We are doing so by replicating the seamless subscription process we have successfully modeled in Singapore, kicking off with 50 car models for every need, including entry-level and high-end cars.

I am also thrilled to bring Cathrin and Wisate on board as we look to collaborate with more local partners and improve the online experience of our local customers. Following our BETA phase, we have proved our hypothesis that Thailand embraces car subscriptions, and we are humbled and energised by the positive feedback we received from our users and partners,” said Amrt Sagar, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Carzuno.

Carzuno has quickly expanded in Singapore, since its launch in July 2021, registering hundreds of subscribers in only 9 months. The wide adoption in Singapore naturally directed the company to extend its technological platform to Thailand, one of the largest automotive markets and one of the highest credit card penetration rates in Southeast Asia. The country also has a sizable expat population who can benefit from a flexible car subscription model for their business and personal needs.

Carzuno’s local team in Thailand is led by Wisate Kirin (ex-Carro, Toyota, Michelin) and Cathrin Samijtiwong (ex-Servcorp, HappyFresh).

“There is tremendous potential for car subscription services in Thailand as consumers are constantly looking for fuss-free solutions. Carzuno removes the hassle from the traditional car ownership experience for locals and expats. I am excited to work with Amrt, Andrew and the rest of the team to change the way Thai consumers access cars.

Our focus is to work closely with our Partners and bring onboard brand new cars and EVs (Electric Vehicles) in the near future, to cater to the growing customer demand” said Wisate Kirin, General Manager at Carzuno Thailand.
